A native of Anchorage, Lissa McKinney was crowned Miss Alaska USA on 1 December 2012 and represented Alaska at the Miss USA 2013 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before winning Miss AK USA she had been to 5 continents, advocating for health and education for those less fortunate in over 15 countries.
Melissa (Lissa) McKinney can be best described as being goal oriented. She has been to 5 continents, advocating for health and education for those less fortunate in over 15 countries. In South Sudan, she started a Children’s Home and Elementary School.
Lissa loves children and enjoys spending time with her family. She currently is the Marketing Coordinator for a local Insurance Brokerage Firm. As an experienced model, she hosts a fashion training event called “Fashion Boot Camp”, for models and industry leaders alike. Her biggest aspiration is to become a U.S. Ambassador and one day represent her country as Secretary of State. She is returning to school for International Law and Foreign Policy.
