2nd runner-up 2013, Semi-finalist Miss FL USA 2012, Semi-finalist Miss FL Teen USA 2008
A native of Selma, Jesica Ahlberg was crowned Miss Alabama USA on 16 November 2013 and represented Alabama at the Miss USA 2014 pageant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jesica grew up in Florida and competed at Miss Florida Teen USA and Miss Florida USA before moving to Alabama.
Jesica Ahlberg was born and raised in the small town of Selma, Ala. Though a tomboy at heart, Jesica loved dressing up her younger cousins in (crazy) outfits, having mock photo shoots, and remaking her favorite movies with her best friends on video cameras they “borrowed” from grandparents.
In high school, Jesica and her mother parted ways with small town life and moved to Destin, Fla., a beach town with beautiful scenery (and more than two restaurants). Jesica worked hard in her new home town to hide her previous nerdy reputation she had developed in Selma.
Like many ambitious teenagers, Jesica was set on moving to Los Angeles after graduating from high school to chase her dreams of the cool, carefree California lifestyle. Her mother put her foot down and demanded that she graduate from college first. Jesica decided to attend Auburn University, while simultaneously balancing a side career in modeling and acting in Atlanta. She graduated from Auburn with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations in Aug 2012, and has been taking acting classes ever since.
Jesica started competing in pageants in Florida, including competing at Miss Florida Teen USA 2008 with Jillian Wunderlich, Miss Florida Teen USA 2008 and Miss Indiana USA 2012, and Kayla Collier, and at Miss Florida USA 2012 with Karina Brez, Michelle Aguirre, Miss Florida USA 2013 and Annilie Hastey, Miss FL Teen USA 2007. In 2013 she placed second runner-up to Mary-Margaret McCord in Alabama.
The on-stage moments, the tension of the final two and the glory of the crowning, here are Jesica’s state pageant photos.
Lights, camera, action! Professional photoshoots are one of the perks that comes from winning a title.
