Congratulations to Miss West Virginia USA 2017 Lauren Roush and MIss West Virginia Teen USA 2017 Olivia Hutchison! Lauren is 21 and from Morgantown and Olivia is 17 and from Huntington. This was Lauren's fourth year competing, she was second runner-up at Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2013 (I remember picking her for the "road to" predictions contest that year!), a semi-finalist in 2014 and first runner-up at Miss West Virginia USA 2016. Olivia was competing for the first time, and impressively won both the Congeniality and Photogenic awards, a rare accomplishment.

Lauren's win means that the top three from Miss WV Teen USA 2013 will all go on to compete at Miss Teen USA and Miss USA - winner Haley Holloway placed second runner-up at Miss Teen USA 2013, first runner-up Lexsey Marrara won Miss WV Teen USA 2014 the following year and made the top fifteen at Miss Teen USA 2014, and now Lauren will be competing at Miss USA 2017.

There was a very experienced top ten this year, with only three contestants new to the USA system - and one of those is a former Miss WV's OT. Four of the top five had competed previously - including all four at Miss WV Teen USA 2013 - and three were previous Teen finalists. First runner-up Dominique Collins was a non-finalist in the 2013 pageant, third runner-up at Miss WV Teen USA 2014 and third runner-up at Miss WV USA 2015. Third runner-up Mahalie Hargis was a semi-finalist at Miss WV Teen USA 2013 and a non-finalist the year previously. Fourth runner-up Haley Gray-Hinchman was a runner-up with Lauren and Lexsey in 2013, and also third runner-up in 2012. The newcomer in the top five was Chelsi Rose who also won Miss Photogenic.
