Miss Minnesota USA & Teen USA 2016 results recap

Congratulations to Miss Minnesota USA 2016 Bridget Jacobs and Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2016 Sophia Primozich who were crowned last Sunday night.  Both were runners-up last year and ran away with the show!  I think MN will do very well this year.  Bridget is a blonde bombshell along the lines that MN loves to crown - think Danielle Hooper (2013), Courtney Basara (2010), Kaylene Unverzagt (2008) - and reminds me of Olivia.  Sophia was third runner-up this year, totally adorable but a little young.  I thought at the time that with another year she'd be a winner and sure enough... she got the crown :)  Can't wait to see how they go at Miss USA and Teen USA.

In the Miss division, first runner-up went to 2015 semi-finalist Emily Fredericks.  Jennifer Monson first runner-up at Miss Nebraska USA 2014 & Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2013, as well as a runner-up at Miss MN Teen USA 2011, placed 2RU.  Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2011, Hannah Corbett, placed third runner-up for the second year in a row.  Fourth runner-up went to another newcomer, Giana Ballard.

Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2007 & Miss Teen USA Top 10 semi-finalist Vanessa Vonbehren placed in the top fifteen for the second year in a row and has sadly now aged out.  Also in the semi-finals this year was Katie Stout, last year's fourth runner-up.

In Teen, 2015 semi-finalist Jackie Burriss placed first runner-up and 2014 semi-finalist Kala Schmidt was third runner-up.  Second runner-up Rachel Flynn and fourth runner-up Kelly Brown were competing for the first time.  

Among the semi-finalists this year were Dasia Mestad, first runner-up in 2013 and 2015 and Anna Korger, fourth runner-up in 2014.
