Congratulations to outgoing Miss Delaware USA Renee Bull for doing the seemingly impossible and breaking the "Delaware curse" at Miss USA this year and tying for Miss Congeniality, can't wait to see if the 2016 winner can follow in her footsteps!
In the Miss division the only one of Renee's runners-up returning is 1RU Alexandra Vorontsova. Kimberly Martin, first runner-up in 2013 and a semi-finalist in 2014, is also back after sitting out 2015. 2014 Teen second runner-up Kassady Sever is competing in Miss for the second time.
We may be in for a first this year with Carissa Palumbo, sister of current Miss NJ USA 2016 Jessielyn Palumbo competing in Delaware for the first time. Carissa was third runner-up at Miss NJ USA last year, 2RU in 2014 and first runner-up in Teen in 2009. Following last year's pageant she moved to Wilmington for work.
Only one of last year's top ten, third runner-up Paige Hales, is back in the Teen division.
