A pair of newcomers Whitney Wandland and Olivia Bohleber are the new Miss Illinois USA & Miss Illinois Teen USA! Whitney is from Chicago and Olivia is from Carmi, in Southern Illinois. Whitney is the third Chicago Luvabull to win in recent years, whilst Olivia breaks the blonde curse, as only the third blonde winner since 2003! Whitney was both the swimsuit and interview winner, whilst Olivia was also given the Special Achievement in Interview award.

Three of the four semi-finalists who were first-time competitors made it to the top five, including winner Whitney Wandland. The others were first runner-up Degi Purev and fourth runner-up Angel Reyes. Second runner-up went to past Indiana non-finalist Hanna Poitras and third runner-up Gina Melchiorri made the top five for a fifth consecutive year. This was the strongest Miss IL USA competition in recent years for me and one of the few webcasts I've watched where I literally could not split the top five and would have been happy with anyone!
Among the semi-finalists were two-time third runner-up Gemma Berto and past Teen runners-up Kaitlyn Baughman and Shenell Randall.
In the Teen division, the entire top five were new, runners-up were in order from first through fourth Grace Rodi, Sydni Bennett, Sidney Tookes and Lexi Hoffman. 2016 third runner-up Leah Morris made the semi-finals and 2016 fourth runner-up Serena Napolitano was awarded an Honourable Mention for one of the two highest placing non-finalists.
