Alayah first competed in the USA system in 2013 when she placed second runner-up to Kellie Stewart at Miss Texas Teen USA 2014. She then moved up to Miss but was unplaced at Miss Texas USA 2015 & 2016. She also won the "Miss United States" 2016 title. Alayah is the first Miss Texas USA from San Antonio since 1998!
This year's top 16 were fairly inexperienced by recent Texas standards (check out past Texas pageant results here). 2018 semi-finalists Paris Regan, Erica Morgan and Rachel Hornbuckle made the cut for a second year in a row and past Teen semi-finalists Taylor Kessler (winner of Miss Photogenic), Taylor Houston, and Katherine O'Connor placed in the Miss pageant for the first time. The rest of the top 16 were Jacqueline Davis, a 2018 non-finalist, and newcomers Libby Hill (People's Choice award), Morgan Pointon, Erin Willrich and Angelina Villareal.
