Katherine is 20 years old and a native of Iowa. She grew up in Bettendorf where she graduated with honors from Assumption High School in 2007. After high school, Katherine was accepted into the Nursing Program at Scott Community College where she is currently studying for her RN license and is the Treasurer of the SCC Nursing Club. Her goal is to become a surgical nurse and one day earn her Nurse Practitioners license.
Katherine is currently a volunteer for the Gilda’s Club Noogieland program, which is a non-profit organization that offers programs for children and teens whom have been affected by a diagnosis of cancer. She is also a regular blood donor for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and is on the National Bone Marrow Registry. Katherine believes that “we all have the power to give the gift of life” through donation programs such as these. She earned her Gallon Grad award in 2007.
Katherine loves to travel and has been fortunate to travel to twenty-four states and 10 countries. In her leisure time she enjoys shopping, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. She is the daughter of Daniel and Carol Connors and has two older brothers and recently became an aunt for the first time with the arrival of her nephew Jackson!

Miss Iowa USA 2008 (4th runner-up)
For the fourth time in the past five years, Miss Iowa USA had been a runner-up in a previous Miss IA USA or Teen USA pageant.
Katherine is the first winner since 2005 who had previously placed twice at Miss Iowa USA prior to winning.
She and her predecessor Chelsea Gauger competed together at Miss Iowa Teen USA 2007.
