Jessi Pierson is the 5’7” brown-eyed, 21 year-old daughter of Brett & Kristi Pierson of Milton. She is currently a senior at Marshall University and is majoring in Elementary Education. She is involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Baptist Campus Ministries and student teaching. She has also volunteered for the MS Walk, Food Pantry and the Think Pink Fashion Show. Jessi plans on graduating from Marshall University in December and will begin substitute teaching the following spring. She describes herself as congenial, compassionate, and a Christian. Some of her hobbies include fishing, traveling to New York City to shop, working out and playing tag with her puppy. Jessi is most proud of making the Dean’s list every semester and graduating early.
Jessi is the fifth WV titleholder crowned in the past seven years who had never competed at either Miss West Virginia USA or Miss West Virginia Teen USA (see the West Virginia state pageant results)
She is the first Miss West Virginia USA, and one of very few titleholders across all states & years, to win both the Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic awards at state (I don't have the exact stats, but I know this is very rare).
She is the first Miss WV USA to live in her area of the state since 2001
