Jessica was the third former Miss Teen USA state titleholder, and the second from the "Class of 2004" to win a Miss USA state title. She is the fourth Miss Mississippi Teen USA to win the Miss Mississippi USA title, and the first crossover since 2003.
From the information I have available, Jessica is the ninth winner in the past ten years who had not competed at Miss Mississippi USA prior to winning (see the Mississippi state pageant results 2000-2009). No winner in the past ten years has placed prior to winning.
Jessica is the fifth consecutive brunette to win the title.
