Both competed six times across both the Teen & Miss divisions before winning. No other 2009 titleholder started competing as early as Lacey, who first competed at Miss Georgia Teen USA in 2000. She is one of only three titleholders crowned so far that has competed in a state different from that where she won her title (the others are Monica Pietrzak, Miss CT USA, who previously competed in Massachusetts, and Lindsey Tycholiz, Miss MI USA, who previously competed in Florida) She continues a streak of very experienced LA winners winning near the end of their eligibility window - others are Miss LA USA 07 Liz McNulty (2RU 06, T15 05, SF 00), Miss LA USA 06 Christina Cuenca (T10 05, 2RU 04, 2RU 03, 2RU 01, NF 00) and Miss LA USA 04 Melissa McConnell (1RU 03, 3RU 02, SF 01).
