Ashley is a 19 year old senior at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. She is a professional model and has modeled with Elite in Atlanta, Avenue One in Tokyo, and Millie Lewis in Columbia. Ashley was born at Fort Lewis, Washington and is the daughter of Brigadier General (retired), Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell M. Zais of Newberry, SC. She has a 21 year old brother, Brad.
Ashley will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in religion. She would like to take a mission trip to Africa and then pursue a career as a major events planner.
One of Ashley’s hobbies is traveling. Her love of travel stems from growing up as an Army brat. Ashley has lived in the states of Washington, Georgia, Kansas, California, Washington, DC, and now South Carolina. She has also lived in several foreign countries including 3 years in Panama, a summer in Tokyo, and a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain.
While living in Spain, she was able to travel to several other countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, and Italy. This summer Ashley took a 2-week trip to Israel and spent another two weeks in Turkey and Greece. She has also traveled to Egypt and Mexico.
Ashley has been involved in many activities at Wofford College including Student Government, Wofford Ambassadors, Women’s Choir and Singers, Campus Outreach, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, intramural soccer, and her social sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. Ashley is also on the Orientation Staff, Wofford College Dean’s List, and she was on Homecoming Court. She is a recipient of the Palmetto Fellowship, the highest academic scholarship awarded in SC.
Ashley is a former Miss Newberry High School. She had the leading role of Sandy in Grease at the Newberry Community Ritz Theater. Ashley also enjoys reading, writing, water skiing, swimming, snow skiing, and volunteering.
