Allyson assumed the Miss Iowa Teen USA title when Ally Cymboluk resigned in December 2009
Allyson is a senior at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids and will graduate in May 2009. As a honor roll student, she is involved in key club, student senate, newspaper and dance team. She also participates in Xavier chorale, Voce, and Xhilaration show choir, and received three best female vocalist awards this year for her solo in "Let it Be." She plans to attend college at Florida Southern in the fall, majoring in international business or broadcast journalism. While attending school in Florida, Allyson plans to audition for an internship at DisneyWorld. "I continue to be amazed at the vision and foresight of Walt Disney and his philosophy that if you can dream it, you can do it. I hope to be able to inspire the curiosity and imagination of others and the belief that all of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."
Allyson was involved in clean-up efforts and worked with the American Red Cross following the floods of 2008 in Cedar Rapids. She has also worked with Muscular Dystrophy, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society.
In her spare time, Allyson enjoys listening to music, writing, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is the oldest of five children, and has three brothers and one sister.
