Kari grew up playing basketball and volleyball. She was more of a tomboy when she was younger, and also very shy. After her sister competed in the pageant, she started to grow out of that stage of her life. She started to become a lot more interested in fashion, pageants, and modeling. In the future she wants to become a model, and own a high fashion clothing store.
Kari is a sixteen-year-old sophomore at Watertown High School. She loves to dance; she has been attending Johnny Cavelle Dance Studio for ten years. This year she also joined her high school’s dance team. “Dancing is one of my passions, I love learning all of the routines, and performing on stage,” said Kari.
During her first two years in high school, Kari has been on the student senate, and in Key Club. Her student senate raised money for the Make a Wish Foundation, and for Katrina. “I love being on our schools student senate because we do a lot to help different organizations, and I think that’s really important to do,” says Kari.
Traveling is another thing Kari loves. She really likes vacationing with her family. She enjoys going to states that have warm weather all year round, especially in the winter when it is very cold in South Dakota. “I love lying on the beach or snorkeling out in the ocean,” says Kari.
