Miss Wisconsin USA & Teen USA 2016 results recap!

Congratulations to Kate Redeker, the new Miss Wisconsin USA 2016 and Karly Knaus, Miss WI Teen USA 2016! {click their names to view their titleholder profiles}  No stranger to the pageant stage, Kate was Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2013 and a semi-finalist at Miss Teen USA - she is the second 2013 Teen to win this year, no small feat considering we only have six titleholders thus far!  Karly was a semi-finalist in the 2015 Teen pageant.

First runner-up in the Miss division was newcomer Tyra McFarland; fourth runner-up Sara Spaulding was also competing for the first time.  Second runner-up Heidi Golznig has now been a runner-up three times in Miss and once in Teen, and third runner-up Teaka Griesbach made the top five in Miss for the first time after two runner-up Teen placements.  To my great surprise, Victoria Sorone Johnston, Miss WI Teen USA 2011 and a three-time Miss runner-up, did not make the top five this year (this is only her second time in nine pageants that she hasn't made the top five); neither did other former runners-up Carolyn Cianciolo and Cassandra Besaw (I thought Cassandra was right up there this year too!)

The Teen top five was one of the best and most even top fives I have seen in any pageant I have ever watched!  I am *really* glad I wasn't a judge because it was near impossible to split them.  Other than Karly, the only returning contestant in this year's top five was Brittany Georgia, 2RU last year.  2015's fourth runner-up Grace Mackey-Natz was a semi-finalist this year.
