Virginia has the record for crowning the most former Teen titleholders and there are two former Teens back this year, both competing for the first time. Caelynn Miller-Keyes, Miss VA Teen USA 2013 will be hoping to add to the run of success the 2013 Teens have had this year; the other is Miss Teen USA 2010 semi-finalist Jacqueline Carroll who will be aiming to be the first 2010 Teen to win a title for 2016.
Two of last year's runners-up, Miss VA 2013 Desiree Williams (1RU) and Jamie Hughes (2RU) are competing again this year. Unusually between competing in VA last year & this year, Jamie Hughes competed at Miss New York (MAO) over the summer. Destani Huffman, Teen first runner-up in both 2011 & 2012, is back in Virginia after competing in NC in 2014. Hannah Uhlig, another past Teen runner-up (2RU to Jackie in 2010), has also returned to her home state. She competed in Texas last year and was a non-finalist. Fourth runner-up at Miss VA Teen USA 2014 Ashley Vollrath is competing in Miss for the first time.
The Teen group are largely new but there are two runners-up back: Alexis Ramsey (2RU) and Lexi Crosen (4RU). This is Alexis' fourth year competing.
