A huge congratulations to Miss Ohio USA 2016 Megan Rae Wise and Miss Ohio Teen USA 2016 Olivia Turk! Megan has finally pulled out the win on her ninth and final attempt, having only missed the top five once in her eight previous attempts. Olivia was a semi-finalist in 2014 but did not compete last year.
Ohio has a history of perennial runners-up aging out without winning the title - names like Alexis Semach, Stephanie Albrecht, Missy Kohut might ring a bell, as well as repeat semi-finalists Angelique Verbarg and Aliea Smith, so I'm thrilled that Megan - and also Sarah Newkirk last year - has been crowned.

In keeping with the trend this year, the entire Miss top five had competed previously, with four out of the five having made the top five in either Teen or Miss previously, three of them last year. In addition to Megan, the other two 2015 runners-up in the top five this year were second runner-up Courtney Rea and fourth runner-up Dinaleigh Baxter. First runner-up was Taylor Diazmercado, a semi-finalist in the Teen pageant in 2012, while third runner-up went to Caity Jackson, a Teen runner-up in 2010 and 2011. Among the top fifteen were past semi-finalists Sarah Bell, Jordan Brown, Angela Judy and Carley Powell and three-time Pennsylvania Teen 1RU Alex-Taylor Deitz. Last year's first runner-up India Simone missed the cut this year.
Ohio was very nearly represented by two red-heads this year, with gorgeous newbie Britain Bennett placing first runner-up in the Teen division. Second runner-up went to Ana Rofkar, the sister of Miss Ohio Teen USA 2014 Emma Rofkar. Third runner-up was Francheska Torres, who improved one spot on her placement from last year. Kennedy Chase, another first-time contestant, placed fourth runner-up. The two other sisters of past titleholders, Alessandra Gessiotto and Breanah Reid, both made the top sixteen.
