The first thing I noticed in the Miss division is that two former Miss MT Teen USA titleholders have returned, the first time there will be two past Teen titleholders competing for the Miss title since 2010, when Meghan Minnick (2002) placed 2RU and Autumn Muller (2004 - and later Miss MT USA 2012) placed 3RU. They are Elle Cook, Miss MT Teen USA 2017, and Jami Forseth, Miss MT Teen USA 2016 (Elle was Jami's 2RU!). Whereas most years will only have one or two former Teens competing in their first year of eligibility, 2019 has already blown that out of the water with Miss TX Teen USA 2017 Kirby Lindley placing 1RU in Texas this past weekend, and Miss RI Teen USA 2017 Alexa Papigiotis due to compete in Rhode Island next weekend. I'm now wondering which other 2017 Teens we might see back this year! Jami will be only the second 2016 Teen to compete for a Miss state title (as only one competed in her first year of eligibility last year). It's also interesting that comparatively few former Teens competed in the 2018 state pageant season, yet three have already competed for 2019 with Elle, Jamie and Alexa also competing over the next few weeks.
The interest isn't just with the former Teens though, as Miss MT USA 2018 first runner-up Grace Zitzer and second runner-up Emily Madieros (also 2RU in 2017) are both back this year, and 2018 Teen fourth runner-up Kaylee Jellison is competing in the Miss division this year as well.
In a fairly rare occurance, all 19 contestants in the Teen division are competing for the first time!
