Marisa Butler is the new Miss Maine USA 2016 and Jessica Stewart is Miss Maine Teen USA 2016! Marisa, like her predecessor Heather Elwell, has been a perennial first runner-up - in Miss Maine Teen USA 2012 and Miss Maine (America) 2013 and 2014. She represented Maine at Miss National Sweetheart 2013. Jessica is the first returning Teen to win since 2007 - I didn't believe my own stats at first with that one! Whilst I don't have notes on non-finalists before about 2010, it looks like this is the first year that two returning contestants have won each division since 2002.

While three of 2015's finalists were competing again this year, only Brooke Harris made the top five again, finishing first runner-up, one spot ahead of her placement last year. Second runner-up went to Jasmin White, a Teen semi-finalist in 2006; third runner-up was 2014 non-finalist Sara Disselkamp and fourth runner-up went to newcomer Tiara Wills.
2015 first runner-up Alfine Nathalie and third runner-up Katherine Ambrose made the top ten this year.
In the Teen division, all four runners-up were competing for the first time - less surprising given there were very few returning contestants this year. From first through fourth runner-up they were Paige Veilleux-Adams, Sarah Holdsworth, Mariah Higgins, and Nathalie Pierce.
