Miss Maine USA & Teen USA 2016 will be crowned in South Portland starting from 5pm tomorrow. Numbers in both divisions are slightly up on last year, with Teen at their highest level since 2012. Miss photos are posted here and Teen here.
The Miss competition features three of last year's runners-up: first runner-up Alfine Nathalie, second runner-up Brooke Harris and fourth runner-up Katherine Ambrose. Marisa Butler, first runner-up in Teen in 2012, will be competing in Miss Maine USA for the second time after finishing as a non-finalist in 2013 (only nine contestants competed that year so there was only a top five). Four of last year's five semi-finalists are also back: Lindsay Abrams, Lindsay Bean, Olivia Jones and Janay Wright. Janay was also last year's Congeniality winner. Jasmin White is competing for the first time since she made the semi-finals in Teen ten years ago.
As with last year there are very few returning contestants in the Teen competition. The only returning semi-finalist is Jessica Stewart, top ten last year. 2015 non-finalist Samantha Clark and 2014 non-finalist and Congeniality winner Tia Fleischman are the only other contestants with experience. Haylee Dahlborg is the sister of Miss Maine USA 2014 Samantha Dahlborg.
