Cheslie is from the Charlotte area and graduated from Wake Forest University in 2017 with both a Juris Doctor and an MBA! She was 1st runner-up at Miss North Carolina (MAO) in 2015, 4th runner-up at Miss NC USA 2017 and top 10 at Miss North Carolina USA 2018. She won the Swimsuit award this year and in 2017.
Eliza is from Harrisburg and recently turned 15. She was competing for the first time.
As outgoing Miss NC USA and first runner-up at Miss USA Caelynn Miller-Keyes was unable to attend (as she is competing on the Bachelor!), Cheslie was crowned by Miss NC Teen USA 2018 Kaaviyah Sambasivam, assisted by Miss SC Teen USA Kirby Self. Kaaviyah was fourth runner-up at Miss Teen USA and Kirby was first runner-up.
The top ten included last year's third runner-up Kelly Glendenning, 2018 top 15-finisher Kiah Ruffin, 2017 South Carolina non-finalist Sarah Roof and newcomers Stevie Miles and Scarlett Short.
The top sixteen were past NC Teen USA runner-up Emily Miner, two-time semi-finalist Harley Evans, three-time South Carolina semi-finalist Sydney Long (who also won Miss Photogenic), and newcomers Emily Kwiatkowski, Madeline Delp (Miss Congeniality) & Phoenicia Butler (People's Choice).
The evening gown award went to non-finalist Alexandra Mangano.
First runner-up in the Teen pageant was Activewear winner Makensie McDaniel, who was also competing for the first time. Second runner-up went to Haleigh Jo Baker who was 1st runner-up last year, 2nd runner-up in 2017 and top 15 in 2016 and who won the Interview award for the second year in a row. Third runner-up was another newcomer Gia Rudisill and fourth runner-up was London Tucker (Miss Photogenic) who made the top 10 last year.
The rest of the top ten were all competing for the first time, although Peyton Brown was 1st runner-up at Miss NC's Outstanding Teen earlier in the year: Peyton, Carter Brown, Alyssa Hefner, Hannah Howell and Kristina Kessler.
The top sixteen were 2018 third runner-up Gabriella Pena, Audrey Burri (top 10 last year), Faith Maxwell and Halle Reynolds (both top 19 last year) and newcomers Alyson McNair, winner of the Gown award, and Tori Gross.
